Of all the subjects found in the book of Proverbs, words are the most addressed. Mark Twain once said, “The difference between the right word and the almost right word, is the difference between lighting and the lighting bug!” Our words do have power. Proverbs 18:12 tell us that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." Our words can bring life, joy, encouragement, and healing; or they can bring hurt, discouragement, and destruction. In the next two messages, we will explore the power of the words we use. We will start by exploring the dark side of words, how they can hurt, and then finish with how words can help.
