The Beautifully Messy Family

The Book of Proverbs casts a beautiful vision for marriage and the family. Its attractiveness is found not in material wealth or physical comforts, but as a place where our children’s identity and self-confidence take root. It is a place where love and acceptance are learned and expressed. It is a refuge from life’s storms--so needed now! Wisdom is revealed for the husband and wife to one another, from children to parents, and parents to children. But these ideals can only come through the messiness of our weakness. And it is with the ones we love that our weakness is most apparent. It is through the ones we love that Jesus often brings His most important rebuilding of our character. Working towards the beauty through our messiness requires the daily effort of applied wisdom.
