On the day of Jesus’ resurrection, yet prior to His appearance to the disciples, Luke includes this remarkable and somewhat comical encounter on "The Road to Emmaus." On this road, Jesus meets two men utterly distraught and bewildered by the event of His death. Adding to the confusion is Jesus' missing body. What unfolds in their conversation, and in the delay of their recognition of Him, leaves us not only drawn to the story but reflective of our own lives. How do we still not recognize Jesus, even when He is walking right alongside of us?
