In the last message, Pastor Nick shared the importance, ingredients, and impact of friendship. We all need a Jonathan in our lives who will strengthen us in the Lord. Also, we all should want to be a Jonathan to our friends when they are in distress. The next part of our story reveals that we also need an extended community. We will see two men heading in opposite directions; one grows increasingly more suspicious, paranoid, and isolated, while the other one trusts God and the community He provides. When it comes to community, which way are you drifting? Are you building walls, or letting people in? Saul’s life is a warning of what will happen if we shut people out, while David’s life reveals the power of opening your heart to God-provided community.
