A Lesson in Friendship

1 Samuel 17 ended with David on top of the world, but these chapters will end with David running for his life. In this message we will see that, post-Goliath, David’s success and popularity goes through the roof. In the end, it is more than King Saul can bear. Through anger and jealousy, he will begin what will turn out to be a lifelong pursuit to stop and to kill David. However, the story is not all negative. In the middle of this, we see David and (ironically) Saul’s son Jonathan form a dynamic and inspiring friendship.
