This message opens our new series from the letter Paul wrote to Christians living in Colossae. We are calling this series “Fully Alive” from the phrase in verse 13 of the second chapter, “God made you alive with Christ.” The young Christians in this city were facing cultural and religious pressures, causing them to slide back into old and comfortable ways of living. Paul was not content to let this happen. In losing their new identity in Christ, they were severing themselves from the benefits of the gospel. To help them, the apostle digs deeper into who Jesus is, the meaning of a resurrected life, and the radical transformation of family and community.
