A Biblical View of Sexuality and Gender

(***ATTENTION PARENTS - This Sunday we will be discussing the topic of sexuality and gender. We wanted to give you a heads up so that you can make a decision about whether or not you want your children in the service.)

For almost all of human history the statement, “I am a woman trapped in a man’s body,” would have been unthinkable. However though, now not only is that statement or idea thinkable, it’s actively promoted in our current secular society. At the heart of a statement like that, is the belief that gender and biological sex are different ideas. Many today would argue that sex is what your body is whereas gender is your internal sense of self, and sometimes those two things don’t match. Does the Bible have anything to say when it comes to this conversation? How should Christians and the church respond to the trans community?
