In our current series on the gifts of the Spirit, we find ourselves coming to one of the more complicated and controversial ones, which is “the gift of healings.” Virtually all Christians believe God can heal, or at the very least used to heal, but what should our expectations be for today? Does God still expect his church not only to preach the kingdom, but demonstrate the kingdom as well? Is there a connection between healing and evangelism today or was that just something Jesus and the apostles did? Why exactly does Paul mean by “gifts of healings"? Does it mean someone with that gift can heal anybody and anytime they want?
