In John Chapter 8, Jesus tells the crowds that he is the light of the world. In our passage this week (in the Sermon on the Mount), Jesus tells his followers that they are the lights of the world. In other words, Jesus has invited, and even called, his followers to partner with him in a mission to impact the world.
