Luke 21:8-- “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.”

“What the wicked servant has done with his ‘not-for-a-long-time’ Return is move the Lord away in both time and space, which is the equivalent of unbelief. A distant Lord is no longer Lord…Jesus believes that the consequences of deferred hope is delinquent life. Loss of faith in Christ’s Return is always followed by some kind of violence in interpersonal relationships and by laxity in moral relationships.” -Dale Bruner
