Concerning Spiritual Gifts...

The apostle Paul’s opening words in 1 Corinthians 12 are, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.” It is clear from the context that Paul is responding to a specific question, or a specific issue that has been raised in the church at Corinth around the gifts of the Spirit. By all accounts they are uniformed, and even confused, about what the gifts are and why the Spirit has given them. It appears that we too can struggle with some of those same questions.
