For centuries, the Bible has held a place of honor and respect, at least in western culture. People may have disagreed with it, they may have ignored obeying it, but generally it was assumed that the Bible was a positive influence for good. In recent years, through online memes, tweets, and other forms of communication, the Bible has been painted as both nonsensical and dangerous. Is our current culture right? Is the Bible problematic? How are we to think about what the Bible is and how should we approach it?
