Your Gentleness Makes Me Great
Speaker: Chris Martin Series: 1 Kings: Faithful or Faithless? Passage: 1 Kings 19:1–21
In seeking to do good, have you ever felt overwhelmed or exhausted? Have you ever felt as if all the work and sacrifice for a good cause has been a total waste? If so, you can relate to Elijah, the prophet who has taken center stage in our journey through Israel's kings. After seeing God work powerfully, he was utterly disappointed to realize no great spiritual revival was forthcoming. In despair, and with a death warrant hanging over his head, he does what every good movie hero does in that situation. He fires up his courage, stares death in the face and... No, actually, he runs for his life. He is afraid, discouraged, and ready to give up, when God comes to him in a surprising way, in a manner we could not predict.
