Jesus in Revelation

August 15, 2021 Speaker: Chris Martin Series: Jesus In Revelation

Passage: Revelation 1:1–1:8

Revelation is a book of the Bible that has tantalized yet confused Christians over the centuries. One fact often lost in the shuffle is that Revelation was a letter written to seven real first-century churches--churches that needed reassurance; churches that needed courage; churches tempted to compromise; churches with problems; churches like ours. But before he gets to the actual letters, the author of Revelation begins with the vision of the glory of “one like a Son of Man." Writes Dennis Johnson, “We need to see Jesus--to meet his blazing eyes of heart-searching holiness, to wake up at the trumpet blast of his voice, to respond to his jealous demand for exclusive and passionate loyalty.”
