Jesus’ Parable for the Dishonest Manager

Speaker: Pete Kresge Series: Luke - The Gospel For Everyone Passage: Luke 16:1–13

Jesus often uses something unexpected to teach important lessons in his parables. In this passage, we encounter two characters, a manager and his rich employer, whose interaction sets our moral sensitivities on their head with an unexpected conclusion. The twist teaches us something about how God sees money, relationships, and faithfulness. Jesus’ parable upends our success-oriented culture with a model that encourages us toward faithfulness in the face of failure.
