The Power of Fear
November 10, 2019 Speaker: Nick Carruthers Series: Luke - The Gospel For Everyone
Passage: Luke 12:1–12:12
Fear is one of the most powerful emotions that human beings possess. Fear affects not only what we think, but it also affects what we do. Fear can cloud our judgement. It can disorient our perspective and our priorities. No fears are more pronounced or powerful than the fear of man and the fear of death. Jesus takes on both these fears. Through a series of warnings and encouragements, Jesus tackles the disciples' two greatest fears. In doing so, he shows how the key to overcoming fear is to fear God and to trust in his goodness and grace.
