We have just endured an election season which ramped up our nation’s deep divisions. The very nature of an election forces a direction based on a simple majority. You must have them, but in their wake they leave winners and losers. Even before this election cycle, deep fractures simmering below the surface were erupting. Just how does the gospel address our class, race, and ethnic differences? How can the church be a source of healing and lead the way? What must penetrate our spirits for us to see differences differently--to regard them as a source of the completion of ourselves, rather than as points of contempt and separation.
