The theme of the conference is “Well Done,” and emerges from Jesus’ prayer in John 17. The goal is to stir the hearts of men to finish well and LIVE (not just leave) a legacy by experiencing and reproducing into other men four essential elements necessary to live a life well done.
This retreat is a unique opportunity for older men to gain a vision for how this season of their lives can be fruitful beyond their imagination. It is a unique opportunity for younger men to set their life course on solid footing. For all men, it is an opportunity to join a band of brothers from all walks of life. Enriched by the friendship and diverse experiences of others, these retreats not only provide vision, course correction, and fresh inspiration, but also strengthen the bonds of our church.
Our speaker will be Doug Brown. Doug and his wife, Sharon, have been married since 1978 and have six children and nine grandchildren (currently). Doug is the Strategic Coordinator for e3 Leadership Group and for SALT (Strategic Asia Leadership Team) for Great Commission Churches. Doug came to Christ in the fall of 1975 at the Ohio State University. He became a pastor in October of 1981. Doug has been involved in planting and pastoring churches. He began his Asia mission work in 1991. He is the founding pastor of Lee’s Summit Community Church (LSCC) and was the Lead Pastor for almost twenty-five years. He continues to be on the elder team of LSCC as a non-staff pastor and serves the church with men’s discipleship, leader development, apologetics, and is a member of the preaching team.
