Baptism | Sunday, September 29
On each month with five Sundays, we will set aside the fifth Sunday to celebrate as a church family significant events like baptisms, baby dedications, and testimonies. If you have not been baptized, we encourage you to consider it! The Bible teaches that believers in Christ should be baptized. Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change, a way to follow Christ’s example, and a way to declare to the world that you have a new life in Christ. If you would like more information, contact the office.
School Supply Drive
We are collecting school supplies for single parent families and for students who are part of our Whispering Oaks outreach. Stop by the table in the Fellowship Hall this Sunday for a list of needed supplies. Please have all items returned by Sunday, August 18. For more information, contact Kristi.
Discover Life! Thursdays, August 1, 8, and 15
Discover Life! is an exciting outreach event designed to introduce friends and family to Jesus Christ. We'll begin with dinner at 6:30pm, then watch an “Alpha” video followed by table discussions over dessert. This is a great way to help a friend (or yourself) learn the basics of the Christian faith. Please RSVP by emailing your name and the number of people coming with you. Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity to partner together in the gospel! Childcare will be provided.
Saturday, August 24, 9am-2pm
Leaders of ministries and life groups, our annual retreat is just around the corner. This once-a-year gathering helps us connect and unite for the upcoming ministry year. The theme of this year’s leadership gatherings will be spiritual and emotional health. Our aim is to equip you to provide greater care for those in your circle—and, indeed, to bring greater health into your own life. Plan on joining with your fellow leaders as we journey together to be Christ’s church to our community. We will meet at the Worthington Community Center (345 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, OH 43085). RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, bring your bats and gloves! We will play a fun-filled game of softball immediately following the meeting (2pm-4pm), on the field behind the Community Center.
