Never Alone

One of our greatest fears is being left alone. The thought of a future without a loved one can be bleak and soul-crushing. The crisis for Jesus and his disciples is upon them. As Jesus' Passover discourse moves towards its conclusion, He continues to prepare them for a future without Him. Just as He will not be alone (vs. 32), neither will His friends. He will send a Helper, the Holy Spirit.

Though it does not make sense to the disciples in the moment, Jesus assures them that it will be better in the long run. It doesn't make sense on the surface, so we will try to unpack the meaning of Jesus' words and their relevance for us today. It is better for us too.
